Happy Tails: 2010 Adoptions
Bentley: Adopted
Renamed Rocky

Bentley is approximately 1.5 years old. He is one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. He is very friendly
with dogs, both large/small and male/female. Bentley does not mind his crate and will patiently wait until you are ready for
him to come out. He loves kids and doesn’t seem to mind their occasional roughness. Bentley walks nicely on his leash
and responds very well to correction. His foster family is working on his potty training, and teaching him basic commands.
Bentley will fit in nicely to almost any home.

Tatum: Adopted

Tatum is a very sweet 2 year old girl that was found running on a very busy street. The animal shelter kept her for two weeks, but her family never came to look for her. She is
very affectionate and loves to give kisses and snuggle. She must have slept in bed with her prior owner because when we say
it's bedtime she jumps up in our bed! She stays in her crate when we are at work and she is housebroken. She gets along
with all dogs, big or small. She loves kids and even cries at the front window when the kids across the street are out playing!
Tatum does not bark, unless it is absolutely necessary. If you are looking for a young dog with lots of fun energy, but one
that is already housebroken, Tatum is your girl!

Lexie: Adopted

Lexie
came to my home as a foster dog in September of 2009, she is approximately 2 years old. In the six months she has been
living with us, she has developed into a very healthy, muscular beautiful boxer girl. Lexie has overcome most of her
fears, but still is a little skittish with sudden noises and movements. She startles easily and runs, but immediately
comes back when called. She no longer fears the leash, but gets excited to go “bye-bye” when she sees it.
Lexie loves to play in the fenced back yard with my border collie/lab mix and my Chihuahua/pug
mix. They run, “wrestle” and “fight” with each other – all in good fun. I just took
in a stray cat prior to finding a no-kill shelter for it. Lexie went up to the crate the cat was in and was wagging
her little stump while sniffing at the cat.
Lexie has a sweet, loving personality. She is a little slower to make friends with men than
she is with women, but she will make friends with them. She just needs to make new acquaintances slowly. If I
wasn’t already sharing my little house with my sister-in-law and three other dogs, I would adopt Lexie myself.

Traden: Adopted

Traden
and his 6 siblings were dumped by a breeder at a high kill
shelter. Without immediate rescue, they all were going to be euthanized. Once in our care, they all tested positive for parvo.
Four of the seven pups survived the parvo and are doing well. Traden is now undergoing treatment for demodectic mange and
will be ready for adoption shortly. We will be accepting on applications on Traden very soon.
Preston: Adopted

Hi, my name is Preston. I was found in animal control along with my brother. He got adopted before the
rescue could come to get me. That is very unfortunate for me because he was my "ears" I'm a deaf boy and feel
totally alone in the world right now. My foster mom is working on my sign language, which I seem to be picking up pretty quick.
Although I've lost my brother, I still want to get up and play with my other foster siblings. I love the tennis ball,
as you can see in my video. Do you have what it takes to be my special new family? I promise to give you lots of love in return!

Dozer: Adopted
Renamed Archie

Dozer is 2-3 years old. More details will be posted shortly.
Daisy: Adopted

Daisy is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. Daisy is approximately
6 or 7 years old. She might be a little older, but she has plenty of bouncy boxer energy. Daisy has no health problems. She
loves to be with her foster family and appreciates their love and attention. She loves going for rides in the car and waits
patiently while you run errands. She is crate trained and we are still learning where she stands with potty training. She
loves kids and would do well in a home with kids of any age.
Adoption Donation: $200.00

Snyder: Adopted

Snyder
is a 3 year old white boy who came into rescue with a gunshot wound. It is uncertain why he was shot. He has fully recovered
and is now looking for his forever home. He is a great boy who loves to play fetch and is full of love. He is well-behaved,
great with other dogs and is fully hearing, though he does need some leash training.

Isme: Adopted

Isme have transformed into a beautiful girl during her time in rescue.

Lacey: Adopted

Lacey
is approximately 2-3 years old and fully hearing. She was dumped by her owner a rural shelter without her pups. Judging by
the amount of milk Lacey still had, it does not appear her puppies were properly weaned. She quickly began to form mastitis
and was started on antibiotics. She was also very skinny and very dirty. Lacey’s owner truly neglected her nutritional
needs and forced her to live outdoors with her pups. Lacey has improved tremendously in the last two weeks.
She is gaining weight quickly and her heavy winter coat is beginning to shed out. Her milk is drying up
and the mastitis is improving every day. She is not quite ready for adoption yet. She still needs spayed, which was put on
hold because of her health issues. Lacey is expected to make a full recovery. She is learning what it means to be an inside
dog and enjoying regular meals. Lacey is crate trained and has not had any accidents in the house. She
gets along great with all dogs, large and small. She likes to chase and wrestle with her foster siblings. Lacey is very cuddly
and enjoys all the attention she can get. Lacey will be ready for adoption in mid April.

Bo Didley: Adopted
Hey there.
Bo Didley here. I am a beautiful 5-6 month old boxer boy. I am going to be a big boy, I certainly have the feet.
My foster mom is learning about where my house training skills are. I was adopted from a local shelter when I was 8
wks old and re-surrendered here at 5 months. I don't know many commands yet except sitting for those wonderful treats
the rescue ladies have for me. I am enjoying my new foster home; they have several dogs that love to play with me.
I get along very well with all of them here, cats we don't know about, but I am so young I would probably do well with
them. I seem to love everyone I have met so far. I am not crazy about the crate but they say it is for my own
safety when they are not home. I am learning, but would much rather play. Well gotta go, the girls are calling
my name.
Adam: Adopted

Adam
is in the process of coming into rescue, more details will be posted shortly.
Gracie: Adopted
Renamed Julep
THANK YOU! Everything seems to be going just fine! I think we've decided to rename Gracie.
We were sort of thinking that since she will now have a whole new life, she needs a whole new name. I think we've
decided on Julep, as in Mint Julep. We wanted something
distinctly Kentuckian, and what's more Kentuckian than the Derby and bourbon? My husband seems to already have shortened
it to Julie, so we'll see. Koa (who has a distinctly Hawaiian name,
which is where he was born) seems to be smothering her with kisses and play time, but she's been handling him very well.
She's also been very well behaved and very affectionate with us. We just love her!
Thanks again
for all your time and for having such a huge heart for boxers! We'll be sure to send lots of pictures and updates!

Gracie is a dainty little
girl just under 50 pounds. She is approximately 3 yrs old. It's apparent she was used for breeding & then
surrendered to a kill shelter. Luckily, she made it into rescue & was treated for heartworm disease. She is
now up to date on her vetting & heartworm preventative. She happily plays with toys & her foster siblings since
regaining her energy. She can play quite exuberantly at times. Her foster family is working with her on being
gentler when greeting new people & playing with children. She is crate trained & house trained, although
she needs extra reinforcement to go outside to potty when it's cold, rainy, or snowy. She is a girly girl that doesn't
like to get dirty & will tiptoe her way around outside, unless a playmate can engage her! She walks calmly on leash, loves
to cuddle up next to you on the couch for naps, & always has a kiss for you!

Rosie: Adopted
We are totally in
love with Rosie! She is adjusting well to the house and getting along with Buddy, who is getting better with her.
She goes outside and runs like crazy we have nicknamed her "wiggle, wiggle, zoom, zoom"! She is gaining weight
and everyone who comes to the house loves her. She is happy and loves playing with her box of toys. We cannot
wait until spring to let them out and really enjoy the entire yard. We plan to take her to the dog park to let her run.
Buddy is older and we think he will enjoy his 'me" time alone. We are very grateful to have found Bluegrass
Boxer Rescue and tell anyone who is interested in obtain a Boxer to consider adopting with your group. Our hearts are
still saddened by the loss of our wonderful Shelby, but Rosie is helping with the pain.
Thank you again for insight in choosing the right girl
for us.
Bob and Diane
Rosie's Mom and Dad

Rosie
is a sweetheart. She is loving, gentle, and very smart! Rosie can sit, stay, and her favorite trick is playing fetch. She
is shy at first but once she gets to know someone she is super sweet. She is completely potty trained and has no
issue being in a crate. Rosie gets along with her foster brother and sister well but she is still learning how to play!
Rosie is good around children but has not been around cats yet. Rosie will make someone a great loyal and loving companion.

Charley &
Carlos: Adopted

Carlos and
Charley are brother and sister who unfortunately found themselves in a shelter. Carlos and Charley are a bonded pair. Carlos
really relies on his sister Charley for comfort. They have been through a lot together and are hoping to
be adopted to the same home. Carlos and Charley are 5 months old.
CHARLEY is a very sweet little girl... that is until she has to
pin her brother down for aggravating her! She loves to cuddle with you and will put her head on your neck to sleep! She knows
basic commands and will give you her paw. Charley does very well with her house training and has very few accidents. She sleeps
all night in the crate with her brother. She plays good with kids and our other boxers. Charley weighs 28 pounds.
CARLOS is one tough little boy...
he backs up the whole time he barks! He has that perfect boxer pose and likes to come towards you boxing his paws to play.
He is a precious little fawn boy with a black mask. He sits on command and is working on 'come' . He is getting used
to walking on a leash. He sleeps all night in a crate with his sister. He has very few accidents in the house. Carlos loves
to play with our older male and female boxers and is good with kids. Carlos weighs 20 pounds.
Dilbert: Adopted

Dilbert
is a 4 month old deaf puppy. He is a really special boy who is looking for a home that is willing to work
with his disability. Deaf puppies learn just like any other puppies. They can be taught basic commands by learning hand signals
instead of voice commands. Dilbert is crate trained but is still working on his potty training. We will
post more details on Dilbert soon.

Stacie: Adopted
Dear Boxer Rescue:
I want to thank-you for my new best forever friend, Stacy Girl. She has only been in my life for a
week now, but I love her so much already. What a perfect companion she is! She is so well behaved and her and
my male boxer, Rocky, has bonded so well. She is completely potty trained and we have had no accidents! Stacy
is so intelligent! She is a wonderful cuddlier and so affectionate. I just love her wiggle. I can promise you
that Stacy will always be loved and well taken care of.
I work at home and Stacy goes to work with Rocky and I every day.
I love the companionship and the joy she brings to my life!
Thank-you Boxer Rescue.
Mike, Rocky, and Stacy Girl
Stacie
came from a very high kill shelter. She is approximately 5 yrs old and has the most wonderful disposition. She
gets along very well with other dogs, has very good manners, is perfectly housetrained and doesn't need crated.
She doesn't get on the furniture unless invited. She loves playing with toys, other dogs, and lying near
you. Stacie knows some commands and is the most well behaved boxer I have had in my home. When she gets petted,
her whole body wiggles with excitement. Stacy would make the perfect addition to any home. She is
the perfect dog.

Rosie: Adopted

Rosie
is 4 years old and weighs about 55 lbs. When Rosie was younger she had a bad back leg. It turned out that her knee cap was
located on the side of her leg. She had surgery done on her leg and now she has about 75 percent use of that leg. She never
lets the leg get her down.... she loves soft toys and being loved on.
Adoption Donation: $225.00

Lilly: Adopted

Lilly
is 9 months to a year old. Lilly is deaf but making amazing progress and being to learn her signs. She has already learned
the command signs for sit, down, and stay. Lily has also learned how to ring our bell on the back door
if she wants to go outside (it's too cute). She is so affectionate and playful. She knows that she must go in her crate
when we are gone, however, she prefers not to be crated at night. She loves to run and play outside with the other dogs. Lily acts just like a typical puppy. If
Lilly doesn’t have something to chew on and play with she will try to eat your feet or anything else around. We have not cat tested or kid tested
her yet because we want to get comfortable with us first. We will post more on Lilly as we learn all about her in the weeks
ahead.

Anna: Adopted

Anna
is approximately 3 years old. She is housebroke, crate trained, and knows basic commands. Anna likes to
be the center of attention and will do best as an only dog. Check back soon for more details.
