BlueGrass Boxer Rescue, Inc.
Owner Surrender Form Our rescue's #1 priority is
taking boxers from shelters that are going to be killed. From time to time BGBR can take dogs from owners, but right
now there are more boxers waiting to die in shelters than we can even help. Due to the high volume of dogs needing rescue,
our owner surrender policy has changed. If you need to surrender your dog, the dog will need to remain in
your home until adopted. Essentially, you would be the "foster home". All dogs are evaluated prior to entering our program. This evaluation
is conducted by a BGBR volunteer. BGBR does not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are housed
in foster homes. As space allows, we will consider owner surrenders on a case by case basis. If you need to surrender a dog
previously adopted from BGBR, please contact us immediately. Use caution if you should choose to post your dog on a website like Craigslist. Unscrupulous individuals frequently search websites like this for pets. They may misrepresent themselves or their intentions for the dog. If you choose to take your dog to your local shelter, please know they are not required to find an adoptive home for your dog. Dogs surrendered to shelters can immediately be euthanized if the shelter is crowded or if they feel your dog is not very adoptable.
